I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, but more than that, I’ve always been a storyteller.
After working close to a decade in the animation industry, I found myself increasingly dissatisfied with how little Christian media existed in the spaces I cared about most. I wanted to make something of my own that could use the talents God gave me for His glory.
Risen Archive came out of that desire.
It’s a collection of simple, hand-drawn stories about faith, waiting, trusting, doubting, and learning to see God’s fingerprints in the ordinary struggles of life.
Cody is the recurring main character. He carries the questions, fears, mistakes, and small moments of faith at the heart of each comic. The stories are personal, but they are written so that you can recognize something of your own life in his.
Cody's stories usually begin with something I have been wrestling with, learning, waiting through, or being reminded of in my own walk with God. I draw from there and try to tell the truth simply.
Although the stories often explore the harder parts of life, they end with quiet reminders that God’s providence is still present. In that sense, I think of them as bite-sized devotions told through simple comic strips.
My hope is that they bless you in some way: that they encourage you, remind you of God’s faithfulness, and point you back to Him, especially in a world that can feel uncertain.
Thank you for being here. You’re not alone.
God bless,Cody
